Grammar Yahtzy – Word Dice Game

Help students remember the parts of speech by playing Grammar Yahtzy! As a teacher, it was always frustrating to have students forgot the basic parts of speech. I know they learned nouns and verbs every year!

Grammar Yahtzy helps reinforce those concepts because players have to create words for each category. Reference cards are included to help students. They could be hung on a word wall or kept in the game.

Grammar Yahtzy is played with seven dice. Each die face has a letter. Players determine word scores by adding the individual letter values. The dice templates are included.

There are three different score cards included. Each one uses a different set of categories. For example, the first card for lower grades, with common and proper nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, and conjunctions. The other cards have prepositions and adverbs. Teachers can pick the card that fits their class.

Yahtzy can be played indoors or outdoors. I recommend playing in groups of 2-3 players.
